Field Technician

Pay Range: $20-$29 hourly

Job Description:

Utility Field Technician, a typical day will consist of spending 8-12 hours in the field (3-4 days a week) capturing utility pole and wire attributes with the cameras, field sheets or utility specific tools that are required. The other 1-2 days a week, the Field Technician will work remotely reconciling all field information from the previous day, then preparing for the following field day.  Depending on where SCE has available scope, the individual will be required to drive a personal owned vehicle anywhere throughout SCE’s service territory. WCEP, Inc. will provide a form of reimbursement for the use of a personal owned vehicle per the agreed upon terms during employment acceptance.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50lbs water jug in the case of an onsite fire or emergency situation in the field.

• Reliable personal owned vehicle that can be utilized for all fielding work.

• Ability to solve problems and overcome challenges.

• Works well with others and is comfortable working in a team led environment.

• Comfortable working independently with limited cell reception and a satellite phone

• Ability to communicate well via technology platforms to support a self-driven schedule after training.

• Strong communication skills when coordinating/talking with property owners and customers.

• Capable of managing multiple types of fielding requests and fielding preferences.

• Schedule driven resource that can plan out each day according to priority.

• Strong computer skills

Qualifications & Prerequisites:

• Microsoft Office

• Google Earth Pro and Blue Beam Revu preferred but not required

• High School Diploma required
